Player
The player is the character you control. To survive, you must keep your needs — hunger, thirst and health — topped up with food and drink.
Description
The player is the character you control in the game, and also the characters controlled by other players in multiplayer sessions. The player interacts with items — driving vehicles, opening and closing doors, picking things up — and must eat food and drink water or soda to keep constantly-draining needs from running out. The player can also wear clothing and accessories.
Notes
The player can walk, run, jump, crouch, carry and interact with items, and drive. Some default keyboard controls may differ in-game — check the in-game controls menu.
Multiplayer and appearance
In multiplayer sessions, other players also control their own player characters. The player can wear clothing and accessories.

Needs — Thirst
Thirst takes roughly 35 minutes to empty from full to zero. Fill it by drinking soda or water. To drink water you must pour it onto the player's head (lined up with the mouth) from a liquid container held above the head, or crouch at a water tank lined up with the faucet/spigot and open its cap.
Needs — Hunger
Replenish the need for food by eating food.
Needs — Bladder
The bladder (WC) slowly fills on its own and is emptied by pressing P. In multiplayer, urinating on another player while drunk will cause that player to become intoxicated.
Needs — Health
The player loses health by not eating, by not drinking non-toxic liquids (energy drinks, soda, water), from hazards such as landmine explosions, from enemies such as zombies, and by drinking toxic liquids (engine oil and fuel). A red curved line appears on the side of the screen indicating the direction the injury came from (including diagonals). Health is regained by using a first aid kit.
