Wheel

The wheel is the vehicle part on which tires are mounted. A vehicle needs its wheels to move properly.

Notes

A wheel is also called a rim; it holds a tire. Most vehicles can drive with only 3 wheels (plus tires). When a vehicle has no wheel, that axle's brake rotor assembly (hub, drum/disc brake pads, etc.) grinds and scrapes on the road/ground, causing sparks. This grinding does not appear to damage the vehicle or prevent later wheel attachment, but it causes friction that slows the vehicle slightly — most noticeable when being towed, especially in a road train.
